Review: Deadly Seduction
Deadly Seduction by Selene Chardou
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
This is from the Ride or Die Kind of Love Anthology. 2.5 stars.
There was a good story in here, but unfortunately it read like a first draft or free-writing as opposed to a complete and polished novel. The characters had plenty of flaws, which made them interesting, but also made them unlikable. Cillian commits the biggest romance faux paux, for example, and for no good reason, it seemed. Gisela a defense lawyer who grew up in the crime underworld and knew about the MC life, but for some reason kept forgetting the way things worked in that world. Some things seemed so unlikely, and read false, however, there were some things that stood out positively.
I really liked the multicultural world here. Sometimes the exposition of everyone's background got to be tedious, and confusing, but I appreciated that it was there. Cillian and Gisela had a hell of a beginning-their story as teens was very compelling and heartbreaking. Interesting read.
