The Final Beyond: Beyond Surrender

In Beyond Surrender, the princess of the O’Kanes has finally met her HEA, and really, would anyone do except the leader of another Sector?

Nessa has been making bootleg O’Kane liquor for Dallas O’Kane since she was practically a tween. She is the “little sister” of every inked O’Kane, and that makes finding a proper mate tough. In fact, Nessa has resigned herself to the reality that maybe finding a happily ever after wasn’t necessarily in the cards for her. Then came Ryder, the leader of Sector 5.

With war at their doorsteps, the Sectors have banded together to take on the crooked politicians running Eden, which means that the man with a plan, Ryder, has been spending a lot of time with Dallas and the O’Kanes in Sector 4. As it happens, Ryder also wants to spend a lot of time with Nessa.

Nessa and Ryder have a lot more in common than it appears on the surface; they are both considered heirs of their sectors, Ryder as the protege of Mac Fleming in Sector 5 and Nessa as the little sister brought up under the wing of the so-called King and Queen of Sector 4, Dallas and Lex. They are also polar opposites in the hottest way; Ryder is literally tall, dark, and handsome and Nessa embodies a colorful sprite with her multi-hued hair and short stature. Their chemistry is smoking hot, and you will cheer for them the whole way through. How many times did I wish a Ryder would waltz into my life while reading this book. Whew!
I have been a card-carrying  super fan of Kit Rocha’s Beyond series ever since the first book, Beyond Shame, came out. I had my O’Kane flask on hand while reading! I have always loved the dystopian backdrop, multicultural characters, rich world-building, and the underlying theme of empowerment and autonomy over your own wants, desires, and loves. It’s hard to believe that after 9 books (and many novellas) this great series is coming to an end. Beyond Surrender is a beautifully written and emotional end to the Beyond series. I console myself with the knowledge that life in the Sectors will continue through the new series, Gideon’s Riders. Sector 1 promises to be as compelling as Sector 4 and I can’t wait; I know for a fact it’s worth it.

Review: Beyond Ecstasy by Kit Rocha

We all know how I feel about Kit Rocha by now. If you don't, catch up! Beyond Ecstasy is the second to last book (!) in the Beyond series, a dystopian series with serious female empowerment themes, corrupt politics, and erotic flavors that whet any appetite.

The sectors have been gearing up for war with Eden's army, and in the midst of war, Jeni and Hawk come together in the way only the O'Kanes can - in a passionate mad jumble of emotions and chemistry.

Jeni is one of the famous dancers at the Broken Circle bar, and Hawk is a smuggler and fairly new recruit to take the O'Kane ink, having moved over to Sector 4 from the farms in Sector 5. These two have watched each other for months, and as the war goes from being a looming possibility to a reality at their doorstep, Hawk wants to claim Jeni permanently...since the prospect of war could mean that permanently could end up being a very short time.

Fans of the Beyond series will love Jeni and Hawk! New readers will love the action, adventure, and erotica in the Beyond universe...and as I said before, catch up! Only one more book left in this series!

The O’Kanes have a reputation for working hard and playing harder—except for Hawk. He joined the gang with one goal: to ensure his family’s survival through the impending war with Eden. It’s been years since he had the luxury of wanting anything for himself. Now, he wants Jeni. From the first moment he saw her, he’s been obsessed with making her his. Not for a night—forever.
Jeni’s been lusting after the former smuggler for months, but he keeps shutting her down. She’s almost given up on getting him in her bed when he offers her the last thing she ever expected—a collar. Accepting it means belonging to him, body and soul. It’s a reckless gamble, but Jeni can’t resist the chance to slip under Hawk’s armor.
The only thing more shocking than the dark, dangerous pleasure they discover is how right it feels. But falling in love is even more reckless when forever is far from guaranteed. Because they aren’t just at war, they’re out of time—and every breath could be their last.

Review: Betting the Bad Boy by Sugar Jamison

Betting the Bad Boy (Destiny, #2)In this second book in the Destiny series we have a second chance romance. Duke, the eldest brother of the three King brothers, is back in Destiny when their ailing aunt calls them home. While home, Duke discovers that the woman he was in love with years ago had a son - his son! - that she didn't tell him about. With a 13yr old broody boy just like him, Duke has his work cut out for him, and with a long time love that never went away, he is in big trouble.

Grace's father was against her dating one of those King boys when she was a teenager, but Duke was always good to her and wanted her to be something special; he dumped he when he found out she declined an Ivy League college's admission to stay closer to him. Indirectly, Duke ended up in jail because of her and she thought he hated her. It was never the right time to tell him she had become pregnant with his son.

I like this story even better than the first one; Duke and Grace had perfect chemistry and Grace was a woman who became tired of hiding what she wanted and decided to go after it. Duke was sexy and manly and just gruff enough to tickle my fancy.

Review: Strip You Bare by Maisey Yates

Strip You Bare (The Deacons of Bourbon Street, #4)Micah, road name Prince, is the last Deacon to get his HEA and Sarah Delacroix is a perfect match for him. When the Deacons discover that they own the deed to the old Delacroix mansion, it is Prince's job to investigate and find out why. What he finds is Sarah, who is trying to bring some respectability back to her family name after some family scandals. Prince wants to do his part in investigating their President's murder, then get back to his high rolling life in San Francisco; Sarah doesn't know how long he will be around but she knows that she has to throw caution to the wind and have a taste of this biker in a tailored suit.

Micah and Sarah were fun to read. They had the best chemistry and sexual tension, although Blue and Red are a close second to that. There were some super steamy scenes between the two of them! We also get answers to the questions that have been asked over the course of the 4 books, as well as some surprise reveals. New Orleans herself was a great character in all of the novels, from sights and smells to her people.

Review: Forgotten Promises by Jessica Lemmon

Forgotten PromisesIn this compelling read, Tucker is released from jail, hellbent on revenge on the chief of police who got him sent away. The problem? The chief is is father, and while he may be an upstanding member of society, Tucker knows all the dirt and has suffered from the secret hell of living in that house. Morgan should be celebrating her 21st birthday in style; instead she gets dumped by her boyfriend who has been cheating on her with her supposed best friend. When she runs into Tucker at the local convenience store, she is in for more than she bargained for.

This was a great read, with a lot more depth than you expect from the blurb. Tucker is not your average bad boy, and Morgan is not your typical spoiled little rich girl. Each of them has layers that are revealed through the course of the book, and the resolution has your flipping until the last page.

Review: After the Hurt by Shana Gray

Pepper took a break from life after her mother passed away; as a result she left behind a hunky husband, Tank, and a new business they were going to start together, a restaurant. Now that she has had six months to find herself, she finds her way home to get back into her life. Understandably, Tank is hurt and pissed and not really interested, despite the fact that he loves her.

There were some confusing things going on here in this book. There was a lot of internal monologue, which almost made sense considering Pepper's personality, but ultimately not what we want to read about. Pepper and Tank did have some nice chemistry, and I appreciated a story about characters who weren't spring chickens as it were. I would have liked to read about more interactions between the characters and less of Pepper's internal ramblings. Tank was a very interesting man, as well as his friends, and there seems to be some great storytelling opportunities there!

Review: Hold Me Down by Jackie Ashenden

Hold Me Down (The Deacons of Bourbon Street, #3)In the third installment of the Deacons of Bourbon Street series, Jackie Ashenden gets her turn as author in this MC erotica, set in the heart of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Blue and Red have some hot chemistry; what they do isn't exactly hate-fucking...it's more like fear-fucking. They can acknowledge their carnal attraction, but the heart of their attraction is actually their years old friendship and the hurt that both of them suffered because of circumstance.

Blue, aka Leon Delacroix, was sent away ten years ago by then president Priest. Now he has returned to avenge Priest's death. Blue has been laying low in the bayou, and the person he missed the most was Ally, called Red because of her hair. They were best friends; her father was a Deacon as well and passed away while Blue was exiled. While Blue was away, the Deacons lost their clout and the Graveyard Ministry moved in to their territory. Red's father became the Ministry mechanic and Red pledged her loyalty to the Ministry when her father died.  Now it looks like evidence of Priests death is pointing in the direction of the Ministry, and Blue and Red need to work together to make sure an all out war doesn't explode all over Bourbon Street. Enjoyable read!

Sin and Suffer by Pepper Winters

Sin & Suffer (Pure Corruption MC, #2)In this sequel we resume where e left off with Kill seriously injured and Chloe kidnapped. I loved the connection these two had in their unconventional first romance, so I looked forward to reading this next entry, especially considering the cliffhanger we were left with. It was another twisty, turny, unconventional read with plenty of sexy action between our passionate lovers.

No spoilers here of course, but as Pepper Winters unveiled more of the mystery and unknown backstory of Kill and Chloe we fall more in love with them. Their history and young love story was beautiful and tragic; the current events are brutal and adventurous, but the twists about the future are mind blowing and completely unexpected. What a tangled web, and what plans for the future have been imagined!

Kill is a bad ass, Chloe is a fierce fighter, and their connection is everything. Another great and unexpected entry. I hope to read more about this MC, even if Kill and Chloe's HEA has happened, and of course, I'm always happy to read more from Pepper Winters.

Fight to the Finish by Jeanette Murray

Fight to the Finish (First to Fight, #3)Kara and Graham have been circling around each other for a while, and Graham is tired of waiting, he decides to go for it and Kara's defenses stand no chance against his charm. In Fight to the Finish, these friendly acquaintances turn into hot lovers!

I enjoyed this book a lot. Kara was a single mother with a difficult ex-husband and a tween with severe allergies. Graham happens to be a boxing Marine with a law degree. Their chemistry was pretty hot, and while the side story with the vandals was just ok, I really got into the struggle that Kara had as a mom trying to do right by her son and how her connection to Graham affected her. Graham was a gentleman with an edge, super sexy, and while he was respectful always to Kara, he was in steady pursuit of her and became her champion at some points. Very well written, and a good read!

Giving it All by Kati Wilde

Giving It All (Hellfire Riders MC, #8)In this Christmas slice of life story, the Hellfire Riders have a marker that needs to be repaid; Red asked for a favor from another club back when he was a Steel Titan and the Riders theoretically should pay up. When Saxon finds out what the favor was, he decides to pay up, but it is testing his emotional strength.

I do love Saxon and Jenny. I feel for her in this book, dealing with Red and then having to deal with this "problem" the club has taken on for a short time. I always enjoy a check in with them. Saxon loves her better than he loves himself, and that makes me love him more. There are plenty of great couples in the Motorcycle Clubs books, but Saxon and Jenny always have a special spot!

ARC Review: Breaking it All by Kati Wilde

Breaking It All (Hellfire Riders MC, #7)Gunner has been in love with his best friend and MC brother's sister, Anna, for ten years now. Because of his past the potential for Anna to be fataly injured, he keeps his distance romantically. However, when his best friend goes missing he has to take Anna to the very past he has been avoiding.

This was a full length novel in the typically novella-length world of The Motorcycle Clubs. It started out slower than I wanted it to (mostly because I was used to shorter reads), but the finish was big and so worth the buildup in the beginning. Gunner and Anna were a sexy, tortured couple, which is my favorite type of relationship to read about. Gunner's history paired with Anna's was fascinating, and their dynamic was sizzling hot together. A great read if you love the MC world!

Review: Captive Ride

Captive Ride Captive Ride by Ella Goode
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a short and sweet novelette about Amy, an attorney, and Flint, the Vice President of the Death Lords MC. Flint has been watching over Amy for years, and has decided that he is tired of waiting for her to come to him. As her sort of guardian angel for the past several years, he knows everything about her, including some intimate things she doesn't know he knows. Flint and Amy are a hot couple and this was an easy, sexy read.

Review: Falling Hard by Tina Wainscott

Many years ago, Gemma Thornton left her small town behind in the rear view mirror after she bravely reported an assault against her that put her word against the word of her high school boyfriend/golden boy of the town, and she lost. It didn't help that his father was the chief of police. Even worse, she actually had a crush on his brother Pax. Now, she must return to her childhood home to support her father, who is in the hospital due to a terrible accident. Of course, the first person she sees is Pax Sullivan whom, as it turns out, has been helping her father out as well by keeping an eye on his bed and breakfast.
Falling Hard (Falling Fast, #2)
Pax is not the favorite son, for sure. But he is still a Sullivan and refuses to believe that his jerk of a brother is the predator that Gemma asserted he was all those years ago. It had to be a misunderstanding between two hormonal teenagers. He was always attracted to Gemma, and now that she is back in town and all grown up, he is having a hard time separating what he feels is right against what he feels he knows...and his cop senses are tingling.

Pax and Gemma rediscover each other, and Gemma finds out that Pax still has a love for speed and plans to make it legitimate with a new racetrack in their town. This was a captivating read with some hard moments, sexy times, and sweet retribution.

Review: Persuasion by Violetta Rand

Persuasion (Sons of Odin MC, #1)Fans of Violetta Rand will enjoy this new series in the MC world. Lily Gallo has a thing for bad boys, but due to some bad choices in her past, she is on the straight and narrow path - with new beginnings in Philadelphia as a high school counselor she wants to start off on the right foot. That lasts as long as it takes for her to meet Lang Anderson of the Sons of Odin MC. She almost succumbs to his charms at a bar but the next Monday was even more shocked when she found out he was raising his three younger sisters by himself...and she was counseling the oldest girl.

Lang is hot, and the sexy MC alpha vibe we love to see is here. I love a heroine with common sense, and Lily Gallo is no fool. Plenty of sexy times and passionate encounters here!

Rejoice! BEYOND RUIN by Kit Rocha is out TODAY and I have a Giveaway!

Everybody knows I heart Kit Rocha's Beyond series, so whenever I get lucky enough to do a review or giveaway, I am soooo there!

Review:

The much anticipated foursome love story of Beyond Ruin is so beautifully written, erotic, action packed, and amazingly easy to keep track of. Each of the characters were given the time they deserved for each of us to get to know them, while giving them the time they deserved to get to know each other and fall in love despite the turmoil of the sectors and threat from Eden.

Maddox, the prodigal son of Sector One has been in a relationship with Dylan, the doctor with an waning addiction and a heart of gold. They lust for Jade, a beauty from Sector Two who was rescued and recovered from a crippling addiction thanks to Dylan's help, and Scarlet, a tough cookie from Sector Three with a rock n' roll background. The action in Beyond Ruin is non-stop, from the sexy times to the action packed drama surrounding the great story about Eden and the sectors. The best thing is that there is so much more to come. I cannot wait for the next book!

The sectors will never be the same...

Adrian Maddox fled his royal life—and tragic past—in Sector One, choosing instead to join up with the O’Kanes. For years, he’s lived by one rule: love fast, love hard, and always be willing to walk away. He’s managed to guard his heart, keep it whole and untouched—until now.

They couldn’t be more different—Dylan, the brilliant, burned-out doctor from Eden who drowns his pain with drugs and self-destruction. Scarlet, the sensuous, sexy rocker from Three, a woman unafraid to embrace the world. And Jade, the whore turned spy from Sector Two, who battled addiction and came out stronger than anyone he’s ever met.

Separately, they make Mad long to open his heart, to tumble head-first into a sea of possibilities and wild love. Together, they make him burn, inside and out, with lust and unbearable, unimaginable pleasure.

Then one fateful moment shakes their world to its foundations—and leaves the sectors on the verge of all-out war with Eden. It’s the biggest fight the O’Kanes have ever faced, and Mad and his lovers are at the dead center of it. They could end up with everything they never knew they wanted—or lose it all. Including their lives.

Review: Coming Back by Lauren Dane

Coming Back (Ink & Chrome, #3)It is of course only fitting that the third book in Lauren Dane's Ink and Chrome series is about a triad. We already met Mick in the previous Ink and Chrome novels, and he was just made an equal partner with Duke and Asa (another triad, except platonic this time!) We know that Mick has dealt with some stuff. We know that Mick is bisexual. What we don't know is the history behind his broken heart, and we find that out in Coming Back.

Adam, Mick, and Jessilyn were hot and heavy once upon a time, but broke it off due to a variety of personal issues between the three lovers. It's like we jumped into their story in the middle, which is a blessing and a curse; on one hand we are playing catch up to their saga, but on the other hand there is a lot of time that has passed between their past relationship and the current reboot of their relationship.

With Mick's big promotion, he decides to reach out to Jessi and Adam, finally ready to accept their relationship and hoping to pick up where they left off. From there, it's a hot and sexy ride with some bumps in the road for sure, but we all get a happy ending.

Review: Accelerate by Tracy Wolff

Accelerate (Hotwired, #1)First of all, Nic Medina sounds the hottest hero I have read about in a long time. Dreadlocks on a tall, broad, green-eyed brown guy that races illegally? Yeah, that works for me.

Nic is a guy who has made some mistakes in his past as a crack car jacker; he is also a guy who got himself in some dangerous circumstances he couldn't avoid. Now a little older and on a straighter path, Nic is a family man devoted to his siblings and best friends. However, the sins of his past and the present that won't let him move beyond it collide right into Jordan Bass. Jordan has a car that she just bought at a police auction that needs repairs done. Too bad the sexy Nic Medina is car jacking it right in front of her eyes.

Despite that rocky start, the sparks fly off the page with these two; Nic is incredibly sexy but also devoted, sensitive, and loyal to a fault. Jordan matches him perfectly in passion, intelligence, and wit. A fun and sexy fast paced read.

New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the “wild and raw”* world of the Reapers MC with the story of Gage and Tinker…

reaper's fire.jpg
The club comes first.
I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.
Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.
I’m coming for you, Tinker.
Soon.
