ARC Review: Ivan by Kit Rocha

Love is seriously in the air in Sector One, but so is the crushing reality of duty. Maricela, the baby sibling of the royal Rios family, is all grown up and feeling very adult feelings for Ivan, her personal guard and member of the famed Gideon's Riders. Ivan is honored to be a Rider, but his attraction to Gideon's youngest sister can never be acted upon...or so he keeps telling himself.

Kit Rocha promised a slow burn with Maricela and Ivan, and boy did they deliver. The yearning and angst juxtaposed with the innocent erotica of shared glances and slight touches was page flipping fuel for me.

Gideon, the living prophet of Sector One's religion, has placed his youngest sister under the protection of arguably the most serious of his Riders. Where family connections are of supreme importance,  Ivan has a history of sinners and a literal saint weighing on his mind. Familial obligations weigh heavy on Maricela. Her older sister reminds her almost daily of the responsibility and duty to the Rios legacy to make a smart marriage choice.

Both Ivan and Maricela knew their feelings for each other couldn't be the right or smart choice and denied them as long as they could but uh...when it goes down, it really goes down. Wowza.

Ivan and Maricela's love story is set in the post apocalyptic world you should be familiar with by now (and if you aren't start with Beyond Shame or even Ashwin and catch up, wtf, have you read my blog before?), but the dawn of a new day in the sectors promises the possibility of previously impossible love matches. BRING THEM ON KIT ROCHA!
