Review: FAT GIRL

FAT GIRL
FAT GIRL by Leigh Carron

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Deeana Chase is a woman with a lot of baggage. As a young child, she dealt with an abusive and depressed mother. As a teen she was taken in to the Torres family as a foster child and despite their love and understanding, she never felt secure about her place in the family. When she was eighteen, she ran away from home leaving behind a concerned foster family and a secret boyfriend. Fifteen years later she is still dealing with yoyo dieting and a healthy mindset, but she has been getting help and getting stronger...until Micah walks back into her life asking for her expertise as a family lawyer to help her foster brother retain custody of a child he and his wife want to adopt.

This book was so well written, and from the perspectives of both Dee and Micah, the reader is taken on a journey through the past and present to unravel the stories both star crossed lovers have to tell. This was part one and I can't wait to read part two. Great read.
