My Fave Authors: On Kindle for $5 or Less!

There is nothing like that first hit. The first time you read a book, fall in love with the author and think, I am HOOKED.

And much like that first hit, as Pooky above can attest to, it usually even free or at least cheap. After you get hooked, you gotta pay. Amazon has a vast selection of free books, and most Kindle titles in the Romance/Erotica genre are 3.99 and under. However, once some of those authors find success and a loyal rabid following, indie pricing gives way to corporate pricing - Nalini Singh's latest in the Psy-Changeling series is currently set at 12.99 and Sylvia Day's Entwined with You, the 3rd in the Crossfire series is set at 9.99. Am I purchasing them? Hell yes!

Does it hurt my feelings?Hell yes! That's why it's a drug, baby.

So, here are some of my favorite authors, and links to their Amazon pages. Quite often you can find some titles for no more than 5 bucks. Less than Starbucks!

Image of Kristen Ashley
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing's changed.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn… Read more

Dana Marie Bell wrote her first short story when she was thirteen years old. She attended the High School for Creative and Performing Arts for creative writing, where freedom of expression was the order of the day. When her parents moved out of the city and placed her in a Catholic high school for her senior year she tried desperately to get away, but the nuns held fast, and she graduated with honors despite herself. She's now a best selling author with Samhain Publishing and Carina Press.
Dana has lived primarily in the Northeast with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She lives with her soul-mate and husband Dusty, their two maniacal children, an evil ice-cream stealing cat and a bull terrier that thinks it's a Pekinese. She's been heard to describe herself as "vertically challenged" and "a lapsed brunette." Dana also suffers from arthritis and can be seen walking with… Read more

A New York Times bestselling author who has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too. Granted, Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. Ever! Writing books pretty much fills her days now and she's always busy. Raine has a prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. She loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. You can connect with her on Facebook or visit her blog at www.RaineMiller.com to find out what she's working on now.

The Stark Trilogy: Meet Your New Boyfriend Damien Stark

I know. There are so many billionaire books out there flooding the market,
not living up to a lot of expectations, but I recently read a book I've had in my tbr for a while that a) I devoured in a day and b) exceeded my expectations.

Release Me (Stark Trilogy #1)

Release Me (Stark Trilogy, #1)

Here is my Goodreads review:

rating5 of 5 stars
bookshelvesbdsmeroticareadrich-boys
statusRead from May 24 to 26, 2013
formatPaperback (edit)
reviewHOT!
I was concerned when I read the blurb advising that fans of 50 Shades and Bared to You would enjoy this book. Having read both series (and a few others) I was almost tired of the billionaire trope. And then, Damien Stark made me a believer. (Thank you J. Kenner!)
No matter the genre, I always enjoy a well written book, and this one does not disappoint. Damien and Nikki have a ridiculous chemistry, and despite his commanding presence, Nikki gives to Damien as much as she gets. She doesn't let him get away with any BS, inside the bedroom or out, and I love Nikki for it. They both have issues, they both know it. This is the first of a trilogy-the second is out and the third will be released in July. I'm there! What an unexpected treat, and a new obsession.(less)

So, apparently the internets can only call up a small cadre of "sexy billionaires" to fulfill their book fantasies. I Googled Damien Stark and pictures of David Gandy (who is actually Ethan Blackstone, duh), Ian Somerhalder, and Matt Bomer popped up. I suppose we can all agree that those fellas are all hot!

Reality Television Worth Watching: Masterchef and So You Think You Can Dance

I'll admit it. I have a soft spot for Gordon Ramsey.

Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Hotel Hell- I'm there. Underneath all of that rugged Shar Pei exterior is a soft- hearted and passionate man!
Last year I fell in love with Masterchef, and it started again tonight! Rekindled as well is my unhealthy addiction to Joe Bastianich's glares.
(What can I say, I have a type!)
Also starting again is So You Think You Can Dance.
Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgoe, Cat, the choreographers and special judges, and most importantly, the talented beyond reason dancers.

The reason I love these two shows when I don't really watch reality television is because the contestants are truly talented and inspiring individuals. Even if I don't want them to win, I am still rooting for them as artists...And Mary will be putting them on the Hot Tamale Train. (What was up with her hair during the Austin auditions???????)
