ARC Review: Dragon's Lair

If you are looking for a gritty, grimy MC book, you won't find it here. However, what you will find in Dragon's Lair is a few laughs, some sexy times, and some delicious men that you want to read more about (and hope they get their own stories!)

Faye has had a thing for the five years older Dex since she was five herself. He was the cute older boy next door that she followed around and he doted on for years. Her home life was challenging; her mother was a woman obsessed with outward appearances and her father kowtowed to everything she wanted. When Dex left home, she started dating his younger brother a few years later, and they had been together ever since...until she went to his dorm room and found him having an affair. When she decided to go have a night out on the town, she runs into Dex and has the one night stand of her life. She also finds out a while later that she is pregnant. When Dex finds out, he makes/convinces her to come back and live with him at the Wind Dragons MC clubhouse, and here is where the story takes place.

Faye is an over-inquisitive sass-mouth, so it makes sense that she is getting her law degree. She says whatever she is thinking and luckily for her, the brothers mostly think she is funny. Faye has no idea what the MC lifestyle is like but gets a crash course from Dex who is the Vice President. We know the guys get into shady business and have beef with other MCs but the story told here isn't dark; in fact it's quite light, as if Faye brought the illumination with her. Dex is a gentleman and a rogue, and his chemistry with Faye sizzles. They are great together and this was a good read. I'm definitely on board for the next in this series!

Review: Fracture

Fracture
Fracture by Callie Hart

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I continued my love affair with Zeth and Sloane in this second entry in the series (and one-clicked my way to the third book!) This time around, Zeth is dedicated to finding Sloane's sister when it comes to his attention that the suspicions he has had about his mobster boss are becoming confirmed. He is playing a dangerous game now, but so is Sloane every time she even talks to Zeth. The sparks fly whether they are in person or over the phone (that was a hot scene!) and somehow with every scary, sexy moment they seem to be getting closer. Love it! They are in a bit of a pickle right now, so I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Review: Deviant

Deviant
Deviant by Callie Hart

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Immediately after finishing this one, I one-clicked the next in the serial. So good!
If you like your stories dark, a little sinister, and a lot hot, then I can't recommend this serial enough.

Sloane is willing to do anything to find her younger sister who is missing. Her sleuthing has led her to a sleazy private detective who asks her to trade sex for information, but not sex with him, sex with a client with very particular tastes. Zeth is a dangerous man, and their first meeting is dark, sexy, and scary, but there is something tender there are well. So addicted!

ARC Review: His Mad Passion by Ella Goode

Fans (like me) of The Motorcycle Clubs books already know Wrecker and Chelsea. Wrecker is the son of the Death Lords MC, Judge, and has been in love with his stepsister Chelsea since they were teens. Chelsea's mother ditched her with Judge left to raise her, and he was the best parental figure she had. After doing some time, Wrecker came out of prison with a mission to win Chelsea over despite their tenuous familial relationship, and they have been together ever since. However, the police chief still has a hard on to catch Wrecker doing any little thing since he is on parole, and not everyone in their small town approves of Chelsea and Wrecker's relationship, not that Wrecker gives a fuck.

It's very cool to check back in on a couple we already have met. Wrecker is committed more than ever to Chelsea, and that in and of itself is so very hot. Chelsea and Wrecker find themselves involved in some bad times when the snobby woman who accosted Chelsea in the grocery store winds up dead the next day. Chelsea and Wrecker know that he didn't do it since they were in bed all night long (well, not technically in the bed for part of that time, but you get the point. Sexy times!) Now they have to prove his innocence so that he doesn't have to go back to prison for violating his parole. A great sexy read, as always, and while their story will continue there isn't a tortuous cliffhanger here.

ARC Review: Hard Ride #1 by Opal Carew

Olivia has found herself in a desperate situation. Despite the fact that she makes a nice living, she needs money, and a lot of it. Her sister is chronically ill, and insurance isn't covering the bulk of  her medical costs, so Liv has put the burden on herself to take care of as much as she can. When she reaches out to an ex on the wrong side of town, she finds herself in a predicament, not once, but twice. Luckily for her, she is saved by Devin, or Shock as he is known now.

These two have an interesting history. Liv knew Shock in college, and they were both different people then. Shock has always wanted her, but Liv held back her attraction for personal reasons. They have some very hot chemistry, and Shock's crew is all about...sharing. When Liv comes to Shock for a loan, he decides he knows how she can repay him. Nothing like a sexy arrangement!

I can't wait to read the last two parts of this story. Liv is nervous about the arrangement but we know how much she is attracted to Shock. Will it be enough to overcome her  trepidation about the arrangement? Meanwhile Shock is all big, tough biker, but when it comes to Liv he also shows a lot of restraint and gentlemanly behavior.

So excited to see how this relationship develops!

Review: Riding For Her

Riding For Her
Riding For Her by Adair Rymer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars!
I'm torn about this one. There were some excellent parts in this book - the action was extremely well written and descriptive. However, some of that descriptiveness spilled over to other parts of the story and was not as welcome. I enjoyed the story overall. Maya grew up on the outskirts of her father's brutal MC. She may have finally found a way to get her little sister away from him once and for all, but she needs the help of her uncle's MC. There she meets Hendrix, and they have instant but cautious chemistry. Hendrix just got out of prison, and Maya's almost innocent world is one he wants to be part of but he doesn't want to tarnish her. Some funny, sweet, action packed, and sexy moments in this read.

It's Silver Bastard Release Day @ Miss Boxy Frown

It's no secret that a) I am a fan of Motorcycle Club books and that b) I am a fan of Joanna Wylde. It's my pleasure to be part of the Silver Bastard Book Tour, and I have goodies to pass on, including an exclusive excerpt and a Rafflecopter contest! See below!

Yaaaasssss

If you missed my review of Silver Bastard, here it is again:

First things first: 5 kick ass stars.

Ok, here is the rest: Set in the same world as the Reapers MC books, and even guest starring some of our favorite Reapers and their old ladies, the Silver Valley series will focus on the Silver Valley as a whole and not specifically on any one group. Silver Valley is close to Coeur d'Alene, home of the Reapers, so we can expect lots of crossover, as we have already met the Silver Bastards before this book.

Silver Bastard is about Puck and Becca. The night Puck and Painter (from the Reapers) got out of jail, Puck had a simple mission: get drunk and get laid. He didn't want a used up run of the mill sweetbutt; he wanted someone fresh and sweet to lose himself in. His prayers were answered when he saw Becca. She fit the bill exactly, but since she was raised around the Longneck MC, she obviously knew the club life. After an eventful and satisfying night with her, the next morning some of the niggling doubts he had about Becca's stepfather, Teeny, were confirmed. His great night with Becca was tainted with the misdeeds of her stepfather and mother, he beat Teeny's ass and took her away from that horrible place. It took 5 years, but Becca made a life for herself, with Puck observing from afar but still watching. Finally, Puck is ready to claim her once and for all. Becca has been attracted to Puck from the beginning, but watching her mother lose herself to bad biker after worse biker keeps her from wanting to be claimed.

The chemistry here is off the charts. Puck isn't your pretty boy; he is a big, muscularly lean man with a scar across his face that screams danger. Sometimes Becca can't tell if she is afraid of him or how she feels about him, because when they are anywhere near each other the awareness they have of each other is like a neon sign blinking "lust!" Becca has anger management issues which comes in handy when holding your own against a big badass alpha biker. There is a lot of shit between them, but no unnecessary drama; they fight, they fuck, and Puck tries to nail her down for the long haul. I loved every minute of it.

Silver Valley is full of interesting characters, and we meet quite a few of them. The great thing is that we will be getting to meet even more!

Ignoring him, I settled back on my stool and surveyed the room. We sat in Becca’s section, and what I saw wasn’t making me happy. I knew she was a good waitress, but she’d just started here and it showed. Not only had she fucked up several orders, she didn’t quite seem to get the rhythm of the bar. That wasn’t my problem, though.

My problem was that despite these fuckups, nobody seemed to mind. I had a nasty suspicion this was due to her perky tits, friendly smile, and tight little ass that seriously just needed a bite taken right out of it.

She really, really needed to get a new job—every man in the place wanted her. Including me. Especially me. I hated them. All of them. I shifted uncomfortably, because just like every time I shared a room with her, my pants had gotten tight.

Torture. Becca was just so fucking fine on every level, and not just her looks. There was something about the way she carried herself . . . I couldn’t put my finger on it. Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her—she wasn’t just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that.

She’d grown up so much since the first time I’d met her. Bigger boobs, a nice fullness to her ass that was nowhere close to fat but would be perfect to hold tight while I fucked her. Her lips had plumped, too, and over the years she’d gained a sparkle in her eyes that turned her from pretty to 100 percent spectacular.

Not to mention how she’d tasted.

Nearly blew in my pants when I’d taken that mouth. Just the memory got me hard. Make that harder. Fucking basket case.

When I’d pulled up to find her sitting outside with Collins, a thousand murder scenarios ran through my mind. And yeah, I know I covered that already, but if anything ever deserved empha- sis, this was it. Collins needed to die. I didn’t care how nice he was. After that I’d throw Becca on the back of my bike and make a run for the hills . . .

Okay, so there were a few problems with the plan, the top one being she hated me. Or she should—I’d certainly given her cause. Boonie nudged me.

“Did I mention you’re pathetic? You want her, take her. Other- wise let it go because you’re an embarrassment to all men in general and to the Silver Bastards in particular.”

Review: The Scars That Define Us

The Scars That Define Us
The Scars That Define Us by M.N. Forgy

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

:( This makes me sad but this was a DNF at 44% for me. I decided to read this second in the series because while I found flaws in the first book, I still enjoyed the overall story. However, here the same characters made me care even less about them. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the hero pulled some vile crap on one of his brothers from the club; I knew this was not a story I could finish. I think some people will enjoy it (some have obviously) but it wasn't a good read for me.

Review: Burning It All: A Hellfire Riders MC Romance

Burning It All: A Hellfire Riders MC Romance
Burning It All: A Hellfire Riders MC Romance by Kati Wilde

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Hellfire Riders are back and we are treated to the continuation of Jack and Lily's story. After fighting in a knock down dragout battle to defend the honor of the club, Lily aka Zoomie is still recovering. However there is a price on her head and Jack is going to do everything he can to keep her safe.

I love Jack and Lily. Jack is so messed up and knows it but he is also unapologetically down for Lily no matter what. He is a dark dangerous man, just the way I like them, but he is capable of so much more. Lily is such a bad ass and continues to prove it everyday.

Another hot and sexy biker adventure to add to the Motorcycle Clubs collection!
